In 2001, Dr. Uzair Mahmood Al-Azhari traveled to Al-Azhar University, where he engaged deeply with renowned scholars. During this educational journey, he observed how individuals from around the world quenched their thirst for knowledge at this prestigious institution. Inspired by this, he decided to bring the same educational opportunities to the people of Pakistan. With hard work and determination, he successfully negotiated an educational equivalence between Al-Azhar University and Rukn al-Islam Jamia Mujaddidiyya, allowing students from Pakistan to access this great wellspring of knowledge without discrimination or bias. This initiative enabled not only the inheritors of grand religious institutions but also students from underprivileged and marginalized backgrounds to benefit from this rich educational resource, thus promoting moderation and centrism within Pakistani society.

For nearly 30 years, Dr. Uzair has been teaching a wide array of ancient and modern sciences and arts, including Tafsir, Hadith, Fiqh, Usul al-Fiqh, rhetoric, grammar, Arabic language, mathematics, English, science, and economics. He prepares hundreds of students to serve the faith in accordance with the demands of the modern era.

Dr. Uzair Mahmood Al-Azhari has a deep connection to the Arabic language, as it is the language of the Quran and the language of the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ. He views the promotion of this language as part of his mission. To fulfill this goal, he established the 'Al-Muassasa al-Ilmiyya al-Asriyya' (Modern Scientific Institution), where students and individuals from all backgrounds, including doctors, engineers, lawyers, and businessmen, can learn Arabic in a contemporary manner. This initiative aims to bring them closer to the Quran and the teachings of the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ, just as the Cambridge System prepares students in English, spreading English culture and values.

Where scholars, students, doctors, engineers, lawyers, businessmen from various worldly fields learn Arabic and are close to the Holy Quran, you thought about it, why is Arabic only for adults? Why not establish such an institution where children start learning the language of the Prophet ﷺ from Nursery, K.G. and become familiar with Arabic, just like in the Cambridge System, students are prepared in English language from Nursery, K.G., due to which the culture and tradition of the English people are spread well. This thought forced you to establish such a schooling system in which the Arabic language of the Holy Prophet ﷺ is promoted and through it the culture and tradition of the Holy Prophet ﷺ is spread.

Dr. Uzair Mahmood Al-Azhari recognizes the importance of educating children and youth for positive change in society. He developed an entire series of books, divided into eight parts, titled 'Lughat al-Taqaddum'. These books help children master all four language skills—reading, writing, speaking, and listening—in both modern and Quranic Arabic. They also promote good moral character and thought among students. The success of these books in Rise Foundation School and many other institutions under his guidance has led him to strive for their adoption in other schools as well.

Dr. Uzair Mahmood Al-Azhari recognized the plight of a disenchanted younger generation distancing themselves from religion due to continuous disputes and derogatory remarks among religious scholars. To counter this, he established a branch of the 'Al-Rabita al-Alamiya li Khuruj al-Azhar' in Pakistan, offering a platform for Pakistani youth and scholars to engage directly with the teachings of Al-Azhar University. This initiative has allowed numerous students and individuals to benefit from Al-Azhar’s teachings, both through direct learning and online classes. This approach has not only provided a correct understanding of Islam but also fostered a deeper sense of religious awareness and spiritual development. Many students have the honor of becoming disciples of Al-Azhar’s scholars and receiving degrees from the university.

This institution is among the first universities in Pakistan to adopt Al-Azhar’s balanced curriculum. Dr. Uzair Mahmood Al-Azhari works tirelessly to produce students who embody moderation, centrism, non-violence, patience, and forbearance. Moreover, these individuals should not hesitate to speak the truth and stand against injustice when necessary. These qualities are rooted in the teachings of the Quran, Hadith, and the life of the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ. Dr. Uzair’s efforts aim to create a society that not only fosters peace but also advocates for truth and justice.
